Arrived Chiang Mai 10th Nov.
Nothing goes as planned, well maybe I should have had a plan in the first place.
I thought I could just hop on a plane from Bangkok to Chiang Mai no problem, didn't consider all the flights would be booked. I arrived BKK at 1430 not wanting to go into town. Every airlines flight to CNX was full my only chance was waiting on standby for a 1900 Thai Airlines flight, 2800 Baht (£44) twice as much as if I'd gone with the budget airlines. Hi season everyone kept saying. Last time, June 06, airlines were begging people to fly with them. Anyway I got lucky and made the flight.
By the time I reached the hotel, Northhouse Hotel, Soi7, Moon Muang Rd, it was about 9pm. The prices have gone up from 400B in June to 500B per night. No problems, the price is still very reasonable.
The place is crawling with farang tourists.
I'll stay in the hotel until Monday and then look for an apartment.
Achieve one thing a day and I'm doing well. It's great to be back in Chiang Mai
